After avoiding the spotlight for months with their daughter, Bollywood celebrities Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh introduced baby girl Dua to the world during Diwali. The duo, whose first child was born in September 2024, had earlier asked the media to give their daughter privacy. But this festive time, they chose to reveal a glimpse of family happiness.
A Diwali Debut for Baby Dua
The warm photographs featured Deepika, Ranveer, and Dua dressed in matching traditional colors. Deepika and Dua opted for red ethnic clothing, while Ranveer matched them with a cream-colored kurta and jacket. Baby Dua, sporting two adorable ponytails and beaming smile, won hearts instantly.
In a picture, she was playfully nipping her fingers and pointing into the air and was being watched lovingly by her parents. Another picture showed Deepika and Dua engaging in Diwali puja, exuding warmth and calmness.

The couple announced their daughter’s name, Dua, an Arabic term meaning “prayer,” almost two months after her birth.
Motherhood: Deepika’s Most Cherished Role
Deepika Padukone recently chatted to CNBC TV18 on what motherhood has done to her life. She revealed,
“I’ve always been a patient person. My patience and tolerance are very high, but motherhood teaches you even more patience. It gets you out of your comfort zone in so many ways.”
The actress also spoke about how being a mother has socialized her. “It’s made me more outgoing. Having to mingle with other mothers and now playschool. all these words sound strange suddenly. But motherhood really makes you step out of your comfort zone, and for me, it’s been in a good way,” she laughed.
Referring to motherhood as the “best role” of her life, Deepika spoke, “I’ve always wanted to be a mother. Now, I feel like I am playing the best role of my life and enjoying every bit of it.”
Keeping Dua’s Childhood Grounded
Even though they are celebrities, Deepika and Ranveer are devoted to providing Dua with a normal childhood. Deepika had earlier stated, “We want her to have the same normal childhood I had, where I wasn’t burdened by my parents’ fame.”
With their Diwali update, the couple not only wished away the festival of lights but also the new light in their lives, baby Dua. Her first public sighting has already been one of Bollywood’s most touching moments of the year.
